Jeong Jun-ho, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for Buk-gu (Gap), Gwangju Metropolitan City, expressed his determination on the 20th, saying, "I will become the vanguard of the Democratic Party's victory in the general election, revive the livelihood economy, and establish a foothold for regime change."

After winning the primary in Buk-gu (Gap), Gwangju, Jeong faced delays in approval due to allegations of illegal primaries. However, the Central Party's Ethics Inspection Team concluded that it was difficult to find any connection between the candidate and the operation of illegal phone promotion rooms, and he was confirmed as the final nominee on the 21st.

Jeong said, "The citizens of Gwangju protected Jeong Jun-ho. I am grateful to those who believed in and supported me until the end," adding, "I will take a humbler stance, listen more carefully, and work harder."

Regarding the allegations of illegal primaries, Jeong stated, "Through the Central Party's thorough investigation and verification, it was revealed that there is no connection whatsoever between me and the illegal primary allegations," and added, "I proved my innocence through a confident and sincere explanation."

He continued, "We are now facing the collapse of the livelihood economy, security, and democracy crises caused by the endless tyranny of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration," emphasizing, "The Democratic Party must unite as one team to save the country and protect the lives of the people."

He further stated, "I will become the vanguard of the Democratic Party's victory, revive the livelihood economy, and restore the fallen democracy," adding, "Jeong Jun-ho will take the lead in establishing a foothold for regime change."
