IT component and module specialist company Camsys announced on the 20th that it participated in the 'World Security Expo (SECON 2024)' and unveiled its security AI system camera solution products for the first time.
At this exhibition, Camsys showcased key products including CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor, image sensor) camera modules, security AI facial recognition cameras, home appliance UVC (USB Video Class) cameras, and fingerprint recognition modules. The company plans to pioneer new sales channels by introducing products equipped with security AI system camera solutions for the first time and promoting its expanded camera technology capabilities through this exhibition.
The security AI facial recognition camera is an AI edge device equipped with NPU (Neural Processing Unit)-based hardware and AI algorithms that analyze and process real-time video data directly on the camera. Compared to conventional CCTV, it reduces server and network load. By applying CMOS-based cameras, the company explained that it can minimize size, providing scalability in hardware design such as the product’s design and camera attachment location.
The newly unveiled security AI facial recognition camera product is used in intelligent access security solutions. It offers sophisticated monitoring functions such as facial recognition access control, counting the number of people entering, and object inference by utilizing a wide-angle lens of over 200 degrees, fast recognition speed, and low-power AI algorithms. Camsys has developed the vision algorithms embedded in the AI system cameras in-house and is securing competitiveness in the AI Edge Device (on-device AI) field through collaboration with NPU specialist companies.
Park Young-tae, CEO of Camsys, said, “Recognized for our partnerships with global big tech companies accumulated through the camera module business and our development responsiveness related to IT components and modules, we are currently developing security AI facial recognition cameras for domestic top three security companies and global markets.” He added, “We plan to unveil prototypes at this exhibition and concretize mass production stages, expecting sales results within the year.” He further noted, “We are also collaborating with an Israeli camera company on developing AI cameras for home CCTV, so the AI system camera business is expected to show remarkable results this year.”
Meanwhile, SECON 2024 is a global integrated security exhibition covering video security solutions, cybersecurity, access control solutions, social safety systems, homeland security, industrial security, and Internet of Things (IoT) security. With participation from over 400 companies from 30 countries and a total of about 1,700 booths, this exhibition is held for three days from today until the 22nd at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1, Halls 3 to 5, Ilsan, Goyang City.
