503 Billion KRW Increase Compared to Initial Budget
Focus on Disaster Prevention and Resolving Resident Inconveniences
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 20th that it has prepared the first supplementary budget for this year, totaling 801.5 billion KRW, an increase of 50.3 billion KRW (6.70%) compared to the original budget, and submitted it to the county council.
The general account amounts to 775.6 billion KRW, an increase of 49.2 billion KRW (6.78%) compared to the original budget, while the special account is 25.9 billion KRW, up 1.1 billion KRW (4.61%).
When preparing this supplementary budget, the county focused on the smooth implementation of the 8th term elected administration’s pledged projects and local pending projects. In particular, it prioritized reflecting the opinions of residents by incorporating as many projects proposed during the dialogue with residents held in February as possible.
Looking at the first supplementary expenditure budget by sector, increases were made in public order and safety by 11.1 billion KRW, land and regional development by 8.3 billion KRW, agriculture, forestry, and marine fisheries by 7.3 billion KRW, social welfare and health by 6.9 billion KRW, culture and tourism by 4.3 billion KRW, transportation and logistics by 3.9 billion KRW, and industry, small and medium enterprises, and energy by 0.5 billion KRW.
Major pending projects include ▲66 billion KRW for 155 projects proposed during the dialogue with residents ▲3.1 billion KRW for the construction of youth public rental housing ▲960 million KRW to support the issuance of Hapcheon Love Gift Certificates ▲1.9 billion KRW for small stream maintenance projects ▲1 billion KRW to support the shipment of agricultural products at local wholesale markets, among others.
County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol said, “Although revenue conditions are difficult due to a decrease in local allocation tax, we will do our best to improve residents’ inconveniences through efficient budget management.”
The supplementary budget will be finalized after deliberation and approval at the 279th Hapcheon-gun Council extraordinary session starting on the 28th.
