On the 19th, Geochang County in Gyeongnam conducted the first quarter regular safety and health training for about 600 on-site workers affiliated with the county at the Geochang Culture Center.
The regular training is mandatory under the Industrial Safety and Health Act and includes matters related to industrial safety and prevention, industrial health, and occupational disease prevention. Each session must be at least 12 hours every half year.
The training held that day was conducted in two sessions, each lasting 2 hours, divided into morning and afternoon. It focused on preventing industrial accidents by raising workers' safety and health awareness and covered topics such as industrial safety and accident prevention, as well as management of hazardous and dangerous work environments.
County Governor Goo In-mo said, "I hope this training will be a good opportunity to raise workers' safety awareness and familiarize them with various accident prevention measures," adding, "We will create a pleasant working environment where workers can work safely by continuously providing safety and health training and regular inspections to preemptively block risk factors."
Meanwhile, in 2023, the county was the only one in Gyeongnam Province to achieve a first-grade rating in the regional safety index for the living safety sector and continues to make efforts for the safety of its residents.
