BIX is hosted by the Korea Bio Association and organized by Reed Exhibitions (RX) Korea, marking its 5th edition this year. Last year’s BIX 2023 attracted over 8,800 domestic and international visitors, with participation from about 190 companies and institutions from 30 countries, including multinational global pharmaceutical companies and domestic bio firms. The event featured 412 booths, establishing itself as the largest global bio convention in Korea.

Under the main theme of “The World’s Most Realistic Biohealthcare Convention,” BIX will represent the bio and pharmaceutical industries by hosting exhibitions, conferences, open innovation, partnering, networking receptions, and docent programs. In line with the global attention on the bio and pharmaceutical markets, BIX aims to provide an optimal business platform offering insights into business strategies, technologies, and market trends of domestic and international bio companies. It also creates a networking venue for sharing strategies through partnering with companies worldwide, laying the foundation for industry advancement.

This year’s conference, themed “Embracing All Possibilities,” emphasizes that “collaboration” is the most important opportunity for bio and pharmaceutical companies, encouraging them to seek new opportunities through cooperation and achieve innovation through collaborative chances. The conference lineup includes over 130 domestic and international experts, such as Professor Richard D. Braatz from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). More than 20 specialized sessions, including keynote speeches, will cover global bio industry trends with keywords such as policy regulation, latest technologies, investment accounting, and business strategy.

Additionally, the exhibition, which saw a high satisfaction rate with 60% of participating companies applying for re-participation on-site last year, is actively accepting registrations. This year’s exhibition will expand beyond last year’s scale, featuring 250 companies operating 450 booths covering the entire bio industry from research and development (R&D) to manufacturing processes, logistics, packaging, digital healthcare, and advanced bio sectors. A special pavilion will showcase trends converging bio with areas such as ▲Contract Manufacturing (CMO) and Contract Development and Manufacturing (CDMO) ▲Bio materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) ▲Digital healthcare ▲Cold chain, allowing visitors to grasp these trends at a glance. Direct consultations with industry stakeholders will also be available at each exhibition booth.

The deadline for exhibition participation applications for BIX 2024 is July 10. For exhibition booths and sponsorship participation, inquiries can be made to the BIX Secretariat. Pre-registration for visitors to attend the entire BIX event, including exhibitions and conferences, is scheduled to open in mid-July. Detailed information about the event can be found on the official website.
