Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that, welcoming the new spring, it will plant spring flowers throughout the area to comfort residents tired of daily life and create a street environment where flowers bloom all year round, allowing people to feel the essence of spring.

The district plans to fill major streets with heavy foot traffic in Songpa-gu, starting with main roadsides and central medians, with seasonal flowers that emit the scent of spring, aiming for "beautiful streets where flowers bloom all year round."

First, in early March, themed flower beds were created by planting representative spring flowers such as daisies, pansies, and violas across five locations totaling 3,525㎡: one traffic island at Jamsil Station Intersection, one traffic island at Garak Market Intersection, and three central medians on Olympic-ro.

In particular, on the central medians of Olympic-ro, a road garden covering 2,555㎡ was arranged by planting pansies symbolizing spring as the base, along with violas and daffodils. The harmony of colorful flowers will breathe life into the bleak road environment.

Additionally, in April, to fully enjoy the seasonal atmosphere throughout Songpa-gu, hanging flower pots will be installed on streetlights along 11 major roads including Olympic-ro and on urban railings, and street flower pots will be placed at major intersections. Colorful and vibrant flowers such as Wave Petunia and Begonia will be planted to create a beautiful spring landscape.
