Utilizing Job Matching Systems to Provide Customized Jobs for Citizens

Pohang City is accelerating the provision of customized jobs for citizens this year through various employment support infrastructures.

Based on employment support infrastructures such as the ▲Job Comprehensive Center ▲Jatuli Time Exchange ▲Employment Support Center, the city facilitated employment for over 10,300 people last year, successfully helping about 5,130 secure jobs.

The Job Comprehensive Center is located on the 3rd floor of the Pohang Employment Welfare Plus Center. It facilitates employment through company and job seeker registration (via the Worknet website), provides job matching, job counseling, resume writing, and career coaching including company-tailored employment placement.

On the Pohang City website’s ‘Job Information (Private)’ page operated by the Job Comprehensive Center, information about the hiring types of companies seeking employees can be viewed at a glance.

The Jatuli Time Exchange, first established and operated nationwide by Pohang City in 2018, is a system that matches job seekers who can utilize spare time?such as housewives, youth, and elderly?with companies, small business owners, and self-employed individuals needing part-time employees.

When employers and job seekers register their available working hours, desired tasks, and compensation through the Jatuli Time Exchange on the Pohang City website, real-time two-way matching is provided.

This service is very popular among job seekers who can easily use their spare time and small business owners who want flexible workforce management. The number of people seeking jobs and those employed through the Jatuli Time Exchange is increasing every year, providing great help to job seekers in Pohang.

The Employment Support Center assists involuntarily unemployed middle-aged and older adults and young unemployed individuals who need employment or career changes by providing job placement and reemployment support, including one-on-one customized consulting through face-to-face and phone sessions, as well as free employment support programs.

In addition, Pohang City continuously promotes various projects such as the Small and Medium Enterprise Employment Competitiveness Enhancement Support Project and the Job Sympathy Pay Support Project to resolve job mismatches.

The city also plans to continue providing customized employment services through operating visiting employment counseling offices and holding substantial job fairs with distinctive features in the first and second halves of the year.

Mayor Lee Kang-deok stated, “The most important thing for people’s livelihood and regional economic vitality is job creation,” adding, “We will continue to make every effort to create high-quality jobs suited to the region’s characteristics through active corporate attraction so that citizens of various ages can work energetically and improve their quality of life.”
