Im Tae-hee, Gyeonggi Superintendent of Education, "Unacceptable Personnel Decisions Affect the Entire Organization"

Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, emphasized, "Personnel appointments based on unreasonable criteria affect the entire organization," and added, "Appointments should be made to ensure the best education for children."


Superintendent Lim made these remarks on the 19th at the ‘2024 First Half Education Support Office Personnel Affairs Managers Meeting’ held at the Northern Office Auditorium of the Uijeongbu City Office of Education.

He first explained, "The most desirable personnel appointments in the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education are those where you maintain balance and conduct them fairly, objectively, and predictably," adding, "If appointments are made based on unreasonable criteria, it affects the entire organization."


He continued, "We must correct what needs to be fixed and establish what needs to be newly built so that appointments enable the best education for children," stressing the placement of suitable personnel and competency-centered personnel policies.


The meeting was attended by personnel affairs managers from 25 education support offices and staff members in charge of teacher personnel affairs at the provincial office. The meeting proceeded in the order of ▲ guidance on major personnel affairs for elementary and secondary education ▲ information related to education professional staff personnel ▲ communication and sharing among education support office staff.


Participants agreed on the need for balanced personnel appointments between teachers and education professionals to advance and transform Gyeonggi education. They also pledged to work together to strengthen cooperation in education policy through expanded communication among personnel officers of the 25 education support offices.
