Through this agreement, both parties will promote strategic projects including ▲hiring and managing elderly walking delivery workers ▲promoting and revitalizing the Senior Job Partnership project ▲introducing a Seoul-style senior job leading model ▲practicing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management through eco-friendly delivery.

GS Retail operates 'Our Neighborhood Delivery,' a walking delivery intermediary platform, and is currently recruiting delivery workers. Our Neighborhood Delivery is a delivery service intermediary platform launched by GS Retail in August 2020. General delivery workers called 'Uchin' use the mobile application Our Neighborhood Delivery to accept delivery orders and deliver products to customers on foot. It aims to provide a community-based eco-friendly walking delivery service that anyone can participate in, while also reducing carbon dioxide emissions produced by delivery motorcycles.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to initially recruit 250 elderly walking delivery workers this year, targeting a total of 1,000. Later, it will link with the Seoul-style healthcare project 'Wrist Doctor 9988' to provide additional special points based on activity performance. GS Retail will employ seniors as walking delivery workers for Our Neighborhood Delivery, pay delivery fees based on performance, and additionally support senior-customized call assignments and delivery bags.

Elderly individuals interested in participating as walking delivery workers can inquire at the Seoul Senior Employment Support Center. After basic training on app usage and customer communication CS education in April and May, they will begin walking delivery activities.

GS Retail expects the role of walking delivery workers in Our Neighborhood Delivery to establish a win-win job model for seniors seeking part-time work in an aging society. The workload is not heavy, and it also helps maintain health. Furthermore, with an increase in walking delivery workers, the delivery service of Our Neighborhood Delivery is expected to operate smoothly, enhancing satisfaction for both business owners and customers.

In addition to the elderly walking delivery worker project, GS Retail and the Seoul Metropolitan Government plan to collaborate on other projects such as supporting senior convenience store startups and part-time job recruitment.

Oh Jin-seok, Vice President and Head of GS Retail Platform BU, said, "We have partnered with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to promote the Senior Job Partnership project to support the economic independence and new vitality of the senior demographic. Based on the company's social responsibility, we will continue to create quality jobs for socially vulnerable groups, including seniors."

Meanwhile, GS Retail’s convenience store GS25 has been operating 'Senior Store,' a social contribution-type convenience store, since May 2019 in collaboration with the Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute under the Ministry of Health and Welfare to support employment for local senior citizens. Currently, there are 51 Senior Stores operating nationwide.
