Visiting Olive Young Voluntarily, Not by Invitation
The wives of the Los Angeles (LA) Dodgers players, who visited Korea for the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Tour Seoul Series, have attracted attention for their group visit to Olive Young, a holy place of K-beauty. Their visit was reportedly voluntary, not at the invitation of Olive Young, drawing even more interest.
According to industry sources on the 18th, the wives of the LA Dodgers players visited the Olive Young Eonju Station store in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the day before and purchased cosmetics. Among those present were Dasha Outman, wife of outfielder James Outman, and Kara Smith, wife of catcher Will Smith. It is reported that they tested cosmetics directly in the store and purchased products. They also took a group photo in front of the store holding Olive Young shopping bags with bright smiles and shared it on their personal social network services (SNS).

The visit was not made at the invitation of Olive Young but was a voluntary visit. An Olive Young official stated, "We were not informed in advance that they would visit."
After enjoying cosmetic shopping, they reportedly visited a dermatology clinic near Eonju Station for skin care. Dasha Outman, wife of James Outman, posted on her SNS, "Korean skincare is the best!"
It is reported that Mamiko Tanaka, wife of Shohei Ohtani, did not attend this occasion.
Olive Young is popular as a "cosmetics shopping sanctuary" among foreigners visiting Korea. In particular, the six Olive Young stores located in the Myeongdong commercial area, which is frequently visited by foreigners, saw foreign visitor sales grow sevenfold last year compared to the previous year.
About two weeks ago, Savanna James, wife of NBA LA Lakers' LeBron James, also visited Korea on a private schedule and stopped by an Olive Young store, attracting attention. A video posted by Savanna James on Instagram showed her holding Olive Young shopping bags full in both hands.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers players arrived in Korea on the 15th to prepare for the '2024 MLB Opening Two-Game Series' against the San Diego Padres held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 20th and 21st. Before the Seoul Series, a practice game between the LA Dodgers and Kiwoom Heroes was held on the 17th, during which the players' wives had free time.
