Moved to a blind spot after filling the stroller with items
Transferred items to a pre-prepared bag and did not pay
A video revealing the theft activities of a woman in her 40s, who entered a bookstore pulling an empty stroller without a baby, placed items inside, then transferred them to a pre-prepared bag in a CCTV blind spot before calmly leaving, was released on the National Police Agency's YouTube channel.
On the 16th, the National Police Agency's YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "The Items Disappearing on the Stroller." In the video, a woman identified as Ms. A is seen entering the bookstore while pulling a red stroller. At that time, the stroller was completely empty. Soon, Ms. A wandered around the bookstore, continuously pulling the stroller. With a careful attitude, she selected books and neatly stacked them in the stroller. She then moved to the stationery counter, where she similarly picked items and loaded them into the stroller. Before long, the once empty stroller was fully packed, and Ms. A pulled it away toward an unknown destination.

She stopped between tall bookshelves in a sparsely populated area. This spot was a CCTV blind spot. Despite this, Ms. A looked around cautiously, then hunched over for a while and performed some actions. The National Police Agency’s video sped up this process by five times. When Ms. A reappeared, the stroller was noticeably empty compared to before. It turned out she had secretly transferred the items from the stroller into a bag she had prepared in the blind spot.
Ms. A left the store pulling the empty stroller and carrying the bag without paying for the items. She immediately headed to the parking lot and moved the stolen goods into the trunk of her car. What is even more surprising is that the car Ms. A drove was a G model, known as a luxury domestic vehicle. In other words, Ms. A’s theft was not a so-called "survival-type" theft committed due to lack of financial means to pay for the items.

Police Arrest Suspect on Theft Charges Four Hours After Report
According to police investigations, Ms. A committed this theft on January 24th at a large bookstore in Incheon, attempting to avoid paying approximately 150,000 KRW worth of goods. The bookstore was unaware of the theft until February 5th, when they belatedly realized and reported it to the police. The police immediately launched an inquiry, confirmed Ms. A’s criminal act and vehicle, and arrested her on theft charges within four hours of the report. The police concluded the video with the phrase, "A shameful act thought to be perfect, but so many eyes are watching."
Netizens who watched the video of Ms. A’s crime reacted with comments such as, "It’s surprising she stole while driving an OOOO (car model)," "Really ingenious method," "It seems pathological to steal books, which are not even daily necessities, using such a method," "I wonder if that car was stolen too," "Why on earth does she live like that," and "They should reveal her face so she won’t do such things again."
