Appointment of CEO in charge of Heavy Industries and Construction at Hosun Board Meeting
Hyosung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. announced on the 18th that at the board meeting held on the 16th, Woo Tae-hee, an inside director (President, 62 years old), was appointed as the new CEO overseeing heavy industries and construction.
CEO Woo graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Public Administration (1984), earned a master's degree in Policy Studies from Seoul National University (1989), a master's degree in Economic Policy from UC Berkeley, USA (2000), and received a doctorate from Kyung Hee University Graduate School of Business (2011).
The new CEO Woo passed the 27th Administrative Examination (1983) as the top candidate and served as Senior Administrative Officer for Industrial Policy at the Economic Policy Office of the Presidential Secretariat (2006?2007). He then served as Commercial Counselor at the Korean Embassy in the United States (2007?2009), and held positions including Director General of Trade Cooperation Bureau, Director General of Trade Negotiations Office, Deputy Minister for Trade, and Second Vice Minister at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (2013?2017).
Afterwards, he was a special professor at Yonsei University (2017?2020) and has served as the full-time Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2020. Hyosung Heavy Industries expects CEO Woo to contribute to the company's global business expansion and fostering of new growth engines by leveraging his expertise in industrial trade and policy as well as his extensive global network built through business activities including at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
