Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province has designated April to May as the 'Spring Flower Tourism Week' and will hold a proclamation ceremony on the 23rd at Wonmisan Azalea Hill.
Starting from the 30th, the city will consecutively host festivals including the Wonmisan Azalea, Dodangsan Cherry Blossom, and Chundeoksan Peach Blossom Festivals, as well as the Mureungdowon Arboretum Spring Flower Exhibition and the Dodang Park Million Roses Festival.
At the Mureungdowon Arboretum Spring Flower Exhibition, held for the first time this year, visitors can enjoy fully bloomed tulips in late April. Although the Spring Flower Tourism Week ends in May, the Million Roses Festival continues through June.
For tourists who want to enjoy the five-colored spring flowers in a special way, the city operates the 'Bucheon 8 Scenic Spots Online Stamp Tour - Spring Flower Tourism Week Special Course' and the 'Bucheon City Tour Special Program,' which allows visitors to tour major spring flower spots with cultural tourism guides. Additionally, the city plans to actively attract tourists from other regions by linking the 'Travel Agency Group Tourist Attraction Incentive' project.
On the 23rd, the city will hold the Spring Flower Tourism Week proclamation ceremony at Wonmisan Azalea Hill and introduce tourist attractions. There will also be performances by dance troupes themed around spring flowers, a colorful kite flying event, and congratulatory performances by singers.
Jo Yong-ik, Mayor of Bucheon, said, "We planned the tourism week events by adding tulip and rose festivals to the existing three major spring flower festivals," and added, "We hope visitors enjoy spring flower trips in Bucheon, which is easily accessible by public transportation from Seoul and Incheon."
