The competition was divided into large ball (senior) and general divisions, featuring singles, doubles, and team events, with about 2,500 table tennis enthusiasts participating, heating up the tournament atmosphere.

At the opening ceremony held on the afternoon of the 16th, two participants and the duo of Hyun Jung-hwa and Yang Young-ja, gold medalists in doubles table tennis at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, reunited after a long time to perform a doubles exhibition match, providing various attractions.

Before the successful hosting of the "63rd Jeollanam-do Sports Festival" and the "32nd Jeollanam-do Disabled Sports Festival" scheduled for next month, the county is holding various sports competitions to foster a festive atmosphere for the sports festivals.

Following the table tennis tournament, from the 25th to the 4th of next month, an 11-day event, the "49th Association President’s National Middle and High School Basketball Tournament" will be held consecutively, with 80 teams and about 1,200 participants.

Kang Jong-man, Governor of Yeonggwang-gun, said, "I am pleased that table tennis enthusiasts from various regions visited, enjoyed our county’s attractions and food, and expressed their intention to revisit with family and relatives." He added, "Through the continuous hosting and holding of these tournaments, we will strive to achieve 10 million tourists this year and devote all efforts to the successful hosting of Jeollanam-do’s two major sports festivals."
