The National Academy of Science and Technology Holds Forum on Expanding Global Network of Outstanding Scientists

The Korean Academy of Science and Technology (President Yu Wook-jun, hereinafter referred to as the Academy) will hold the 222nd Academy Roundtable Discussion simultaneously online and offline at 3 p.m. on the 20th, under the theme "Essential Elements for First Movers - Scientific Networking."

The keynote speakers include Kim Hyung-ha, Principal Researcher at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, Lee Sang-yeop, Vice President for Research at KAIST, and Cho Hee-yong, former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sweden.

This event was organized to raise awareness among top researchers and international cooperation experts in the field of science and technology about the importance of global networking, and to discuss institutional improvements and strategic plans for promoting outstanding Korean researchers and building networks.

President Yu Wook-jun stated, "Although South Korea currently has many outstanding researchers, visible achievements on the international stage are lacking compared to the excellence of the research," adding, "This discussion forum was established to create a systematic support system so that Korean scientists and engineers can enhance their recognition as global leaders and win the highest prestigious international science awards, which has long been the nation's aspiration."
