"Party That Will Manage the Economy Well in the Past and Future Is Kukhim"
Yang Moon-seok's 'Defective Product' Column... "Throwing Away the Spirit of Roh Moo-hyun"
Yoon Jae-ok, the floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized the economic policies of the Democratic Party of Korea and the former Moon Jae-in administration as nonsensical and harmful laws, emphasizing that the People Power Party is the party of the economy.
At the Central Election Countermeasures Committee meeting held at the central party office in Yeouido on the 18th, Floor Leader Yoon said, "The party that will take good care of the economy in the past and in the future is not the Democratic Party but the People Power Party," and "The reason the administration changed is because the Moon government disrupted the economy with the nonsensical policy of income-led growth and increased public despair with harmful real estate laws."
He also argued, "The Democratic Party's 3% growth theory is nothing more than a fiscal-led growth theory that stimulates the economy by releasing taxes," and "It does not consider the burden on future generations at all." He added, "If the People Power Party can focus solely on people's livelihoods in the next National Assembly without being held back by the opposition, it will create changes that the public can feel," and emphasized, "Please help the government and ruling party to devote themselves to future industries and the recovery of people's livelihoods."
Floor Leader Yoon also pointed out that the Democratic Party has left Yang Moon-seok, a Democratic Party candidate who caused controversy with a past column about former President Roh Moo-hyun, as is after nominating him. He said, "The Democratic Party showed self-contradiction by nominating a candidate who insulted former President Roh," and "Referring to former President Roh as a defective product is a hateful remark that even conservative political circles consider excessive." He added, "This is not the only problematic expression; there were various other remarks," and criticized, "Nominating such a person and continuously neglecting the controversy afterward means the Democratic Party is throwing the Roh Moo-hyun spirit to the ground."
Yoon said, "Looking at how many officials from the immediately preceding Moon Jae-in government were ousted from nominations and the party became a ruined party, talking about the Roh Moo-hyun spirit itself feels tactless," and "If the Democratic Party does not respect the legacy of the former president and plans to fight the general election with the Lee Jae-myung spirit, they should clarify this and receive the judgment of the people."
Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, defended candidate Yang's past 'defective product' remark on the 16th as "freedom of expression." Lee Hae-chan, the Democratic Party's standing election committee chairman, also expressed the position that "he should remain as is."
