An exhibition of memorial artworks will be held to mark the 10th anniversary of the April 16 Sewol Ferry disaster.
The 4·16 Democratic Civic Education Center announced on the 18th that it will hold an exhibition titled "Even as Time Passes, Always Together with You" on the first floor of the Center's Future Hope Hall until the 29th of next month.
The 4·16 Democratic Citizenship Education Center will hold an exhibition titled "Even as Time Passes, It Was Always With You" on the first floor of the Center's Future Hope Hall until the 29th of next month.
This exhibition features 39 works including quilts, knots, tufting, glass crafts, sculptures, and videos, all created with heartfelt dedication by the families of the students who lost their lives in the disaster to commemorate the 10th anniversary.
The exhibition conveys a message aimed at forming a social consensus to remember and never forget the Danwon High School students who perished, even as time passes.
The exhibition is open free of charge to anyone visiting the Center on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding weekends and public holidays.
Jeon Myeong-seon, director of the 4·16 Democratic Civic Education Center, said, "Marking the 10th anniversary of the April 16 disaster, the exhibition of works created with the participation of the families of the Danwon High School victims adds special significance. I hope this will be a meaningful time to reflect on the families’ hearts that have fully remembered the sacrificed children over the past ten years and to remember together."
