OCI to Train Management Experts with 'KAIST and Yonsei University MBA' for Team Leaders and Above

38 Engineers and Researchers from All Affiliates Participated
Yonsei University MBA Started in 2008... Total of 540 Graduates
Chairman Lee Woo-hyun: "We Will Spare No Investment in Talent Development"

OCI Holdings recently announced on the 18th that it held the entrance ceremony for the 2nd class of its in-house core talent development program, 'OCI-KAIST MBA,' at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon.


Following the in-house MBA program 'OCI-Yonsei MBA' launched in 2008, OCI Holdings introduced the OCI-KAIST MBA program in August last year.


The 2nd class of OCI-KAIST MBA students are researchers and engineers from nationwide business sites and affiliates in Pohang, Gwangyang, Gunsan, Seongnam, and other locations. They will receive a total of 84 hours of education at KAIST until May 2.


They learn professional management through various case studies and project assignments from top domestic professors in fields such as human resource management, financial accounting, supply chain management, leadership, B2B marketing, strategy, and technology management.


At the entrance ceremony, Lee Woo-hyun, Chairman of OCI Holdings, said, "Science is the foundation of the national economy and the driving force for future growth, so it is important," adding, "Our learning must continue to advance technology development and secure competitiveness." He also emphasized, "OCI Holdings will continue to spare no support to help employees grow."

Previously, OCI Holdings produced a total of 540 graduates through 12 classes of the Yonsei University MBA program.


OCI Holdings selects new team leaders and team leader candidates from all affiliates and operates the program in Seoul (Yonsei University Sangnam Graduate School of Business) and Daejeon (KAIST Department of Technology Management) so that they can participate according to their work locations. The purpose of this program is to enhance their management knowledge and leadership capabilities.


Chu Won-yong, manager at the Gunsan plant and a graduate of the 1st OCI-KAIST MBA class, said, "Through Professor No Jae-jung’s lecture on Supply Chain Management (SCM Operation), I learned how to approach responding to technological changes," adding, "Not only the theoretical classes but also special lectures directly related to the field, such as the future of the semiconductor market and secondary battery technology, were beneficial."


In addition to the MBA program, OCI Holdings is making full investments to strengthen individual capabilities and expertise of its employees through various in-house training programs, including leadership training for future leader candidates and foreign language and accounting education for nurturing global talent.
