Two Educational Gardens and 10 Experience Participant Groups Selected
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City is recruiting participants for the 'Urban Agriculture Education Garden' and 'Visiting Urban Agriculture Experience' programs to revitalize urban agriculture until the 5th of next month.
The 'Urban Agriculture Education Garden' program is a project that utilizes small spaces within the city to create garden bases and supports cultivation technique education by urban agriculture experts.
The 'Visiting Urban Agriculture Experience' program involves urban agriculture experts trained by Icheon City visiting requested institutions directly to provide customized horticulture programs.
Both programs are open to institutions and organizations with addresses in Icheon City. For the Urban Agriculture Education Garden, two sites will be selected through document screening, on-site surveys, and review by the Urban Agriculture Committee. For the Visiting Urban Agriculture Experience, ten sites will be selected through document screening and review by the Urban Agriculture Committee.
Jung Hyun-sook, Director of the Agricultural Promotion Division of Icheon City, said, "We hope this program helps people recover health in daily life and achieve emotional stability by relieving stress," adding, "We will continue to strive to foster urban agriculture suited to the characteristics of Icheon City, a city combining urban and rural elements."
