Global Company Denmark CIP Conducts Ground Investigation for Design After 2GW Power Project Approval
Estimated 10GW Floating Wind Power in Sinan, Public-Led Complex Development Support Project 추진
Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, is smoothly conducting marine ground surveys using a special research vessel, with a 10 billion KRW investment from the global company Denmark CIP (Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners), which is promoting the establishment of a floating offshore wind power complex in the waters of Heuksan-myeon.
According to the county on the 18th, offshore wind power requires approval procedures from 10 ministries and a total of 29 permits before construction can begin. The developer plans to proceed sequentially, starting with the power generation business permit obtained in March last year, followed by the design of the power complex, and permits for the use and occupation of public waters.
In addition, before starting the ground survey, efforts are being accelerated to alleviate residents' concerns and secure trust through accurate information delivery and continuous opinion gathering from fishermen and local residents, aiming for the early commencement of the floating offshore wind power complex.
A representative of the power company stated, “We plan to invest a total of 12 trillion KRW in the Shinan floating offshore wind power project, and we will strive to play an important role in achieving the national greenhouse gas reduction target (NDC) by 2030 and the mid-to-long-term goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 through proper procedures.”
Meanwhile, once the 2GW-scale floating offshore wind power project is completed, it is expected to supply electricity to approximately 1.16 million households and create about 34,600 jobs related to construction and operation.
Shinan-gun estimates 10GW of floating offshore wind power in addition to 8.2GW of fixed offshore wind power, planning to firmly establish its position as the center of offshore wind power in Asia through the creation of the world's largest offshore wind power complex.
