NH Investment & Securities announced on the 18th that it will hold an event offering a special interest rate of up to 5.05% per annum (before tax) for customers subscribing to US dollar repurchase agreements (RP, term-based).
The event is targeted at customers using branches of NH Investment & Securities who have a dedicated private banker (PB). If a customer does not have a dedicated PB, they can visit a branch to register a PB and then subscribe to the product. Dollar RPs are bonds sold by financial institutions under the condition that they repurchase the bond at a fixed interest rate after the agreed period. This special dollar RP event was prepared to expand the portfolios of high-net-worth clients interested in investing in dollars.
The special interest rates for dollar RPs are 4.95% for 30-day terms, 5.00% for 60-day terms, and 5.05% for 90-day terms. Customers can choose products according to their investment period. Purchases are not possible through the Mobile Trading System (MTS); customers wishing to subscribe must visit a branch to apply. Individual customers can subscribe from 70,000 dollars (approximately 100 million KRW, based on the exchange rate of 1,350 KRW per dollar as of March 5) up to 400,000 dollars, and corporate customers can subscribe up to 3 million dollars. This special dollar RP event will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and the event for the month will end early once the monthly quota is exhausted. The special dollar RP will supply a total of 1.2 billion dollars, with 300 million dollars available each month from this month through June.
NH Investment & Securities plans to continue efforts to meet the demands of high-net-worth clients and diversify their portfolios. Lee Jae-kyung, General Manager of the PWM Business Division, said, "For asset owners, holding US dollars is important as a global safe asset," adding, "For customers considering dollar investments, this will be a great opportunity to experience industry-leading interest rate benefits."
