Gyeonggi Province is promoting the expansion of public service entry opportunities for high school graduates and prospective graduates. On the 18th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will continue to implement the Outstanding Talent Recommendation System, which was first introduced last year by a local government nationwide.
The Outstanding Talent Recommendation System is a program that selects probationary employees from high school graduates and prospective graduates within the province who have met the requirements for completing courses in management and finance subjects. While the technical job category competitive recruitment exam for high school graduates and prospective graduates is already in place, the significance of the Outstanding Talent Recommendation System lies in expanding these opportunities to the administrative job category as well.
Applicants wishing to apply can do so with a recommendation from the principal of their graduating (or prospective graduating) school. The submission period for recommendation letters is four days, from July 22 to 25. This year, two probationary employees will be finally selected through written exams in three subjects?Korean, English, and Korean History?and an interview. After a probationary period and evaluation at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, they will be appointed as Grade 9 administrative public officials.
Lee Jeong-hwa, Director of the Personnel Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We plan to actively provide opportunities for outstanding talents who have been diligent in their school education to challenge entry into public service regardless of their academic background."
Meanwhile, through the Outstanding Talent Recommendation System conducted last year, Gyeonggi Province selected one person, who was assigned to the Accounting Division on the 11th of this month. The probationary period is at least six months, and Gyeonggi Province will decide on final appointment after evaluation following the probationary work period.
