Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) will hold the 2024 Seodaemun Spring Light Festival "Meet Spring in Spring Light Seodaemun" for five days from March 30 to 31 and April 5 to 7 around Ansan and Hongjecheon in Seodaemun.
Ansan (鞍山) is well known for its cherry blossoms that create a spectacular view every spring, and Hongjecheon is famous as a hot place with the "Seodaemun Hongje Waterfall" and "Cafe Waterfall."
The "Spring Light Concert," held at the outdoor stage of Cafe Waterfall in Hongjecheon at 6 p.m. on March 30 and April 6, will feature singers Lee Solomon and Hong Jiyoon, respectively. The "Seodaemun Cherry Blossom Live" will be held for three days from 3 p.m. on March 31, April 5, and April 7, with singers Yoon Sung, Kassy, and Park Hyunbin performing to entertain the audience.
On the first and third days of Cherry Blossom Live, the event will take place at the outdoor stage of Cafe Waterfall, and on the second day, it will be held at Ansan Cherry Blossom Yard. Depending on the date, students from Chugye University for the Arts, Digital Seoul Culture & Arts University, Myongji University, and winners of the January KBS National Singing Contest Seodaemun-gu edition will also perform.
At 6 p.m. on April 5, a classical concert by "Ham Shin-ik and the Symphony Song Orchestra" will be held at the second annex parking lot of Seodaemun-gu Office near Cafe Waterfall in Hongjecheon. Seating for about 1,000 people will be provided. At 3 p.m. on April 6, the Seodaemun-gu Women's Choir and others will perform "Spring Meeting through Art Songs" at Ansan Cherry Blossom Yard.
The events are open to everyone, and those interested can apply online on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9 a.m. on March 19 for the two Spring Light Concerts, March 20 for the three Seodaemun Cherry Blossom Live performances, and March 21 for the Ham Shin-ik and Symphony Song and Art Songs concerts by referring to the notice on the Seodaemun-gu Office website. Additionally, applications can be made by phone to the Cultural and Sports Department of the district office or by visiting the venue on the day of the event.
On the weekend of April 6 and 7, cherry blossom workshops, experience booths, and food trucks will be set up around Hongjecheon to provide more enjoyment for visitors. From March 29 to April 30, photo zones and landscape lighting will be installed along the Ansan Cherry Blossom Trail and throughout Ansan Herb Garden.
