'2023 CDP Water Korea Awards' Excellence Award
Hyundai Rotem announced on the 18th that it received a 'Leadership A-' rating in the water management category from the global sustainability management evaluation organization Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
Hyundai Rotem recently received the Excellence Award by obtaining the 'Leadership A-' rating in the water management category at the '2023 CDP Water Korea Awards' hosted by CDP at the Glass Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul. The Excellence Award is given to companies ranked 3rd to 10th in the water management category.
CDP is a non-profit organization that evaluates the sustainability management of major companies worldwide on behalf of global financial investment institutions. Along with the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), it is recognized as a highly credible ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management evaluation indicator.

Evaluations were divided into two categories: water management and climate change response. Ratings range across eight levels, from the highest Leadership A, Leadership A-, Management B, Management B-, and so on.
Hyundai Rotem discloses its entire water management status externally, from tap water management within its business sites to wastewater treatment. Last year, it was not found to have any violations during unannounced inspections for water pollution substances conducted by the Ministry of Environment.
In the climate change response category, Hyundai Rotem received a 'Management B' rating. A Hyundai Rotem official stated, "We will continue to set goals related to achieving carbon neutrality and reducing pollutants, and make company-wide efforts to enhance related systems."
