Pilot Operation of Woodcraft Experience Program from the 18th... Apply at Least Two Days Before Each Program Date
Trial Operation Until April, Expanded Participation and Operating Hours from May
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is starting an experience program at the Cheonwangsan Woodworking Experience Center located in the Hanggol area of Cheonwang Neighborhood Park (Hang-dong 149-7).
Last year, the district expanded the Cheonwangsan Family Camping Site within the Hanggol area of Cheonwang Neighborhood Park and invested a total budget of 1 billion KRW to create a 292.16㎡ woodworking experience center.
Having completed preparations for operating the woodworking experience center, the district will pilot a program from the 18th of this month until next month, targeting children. The program involves making everyday items (such as pencil holders, toys, shelves, etc.) using simple tools without woodworking machines. It will operate on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with two sessions held daily.
Participants are groups of toddlers and elementary school students (15?20 people), who can experience the program by paying separate fees for the activity and materials. The activity fee is less than 5,000 KRW per person.
For more details related to the woodworking experience, inquiries can be made to the Cheonwangsan Woodworking Experience Center.
Additionally, starting in May, the district plans to expand the program to include woodworking using machines and linked programs with nearby facilities such as the camping site and ecological park, allowing participation by people of all ages and genders, not just children.
Furthermore, to accommodate working adults and family participants, operating hours will be extended to Saturdays, and depending on future demand, night classes will also be considered.
A Guro-gu official said, “We hope residents will enjoy woodworking experiences and have healing time in nature,” adding, “After the pilot operation, we plan to officially run the woodworking experience center, so we ask for your active participation.”
