Seoul's Representative Spring Flower Festival... Yeouido Spring Flower Festival from March 29 to April 2 Last year's Yeouido Spring Flower Festival

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that from March 29 to April 2, the Yeouiseo-ro (from the southern end of Seogang Bridge to the entrance of Yeoui 2 Bridge, 1.7 km) and the National Assembly soccer field in the Han River Park beneath Yeouiseo-ro will fully host the representative spring festival, the ‘Yeouido Spring Flower Festival.’

Marking its 18th edition, the festival’s theme is ‘Spring Flower Picnic (Picnic under the Cherry Blossom),’ and the entire event site will be decorated as a picnic zone with a “campnic” (camping + picnic) concept, allowing visitors to leisurely enjoy spring in the heart of the city.

Notably, this year introduces the ‘Yeongdeungpo Art Cube’ for the first time, where visitors can experience artworks by local Yeongdeungpo artists. The Art Cube will showcase and facilitate sales of small-scale works priced under 1 million KRW. Centered around the sculpture ‘Dog’ by Kim Woo-jin, a rising star in contemporary art, visitors can appreciate various works by artists from Mullae-dong and the local area.

Additionally, Seoul’s first-ever program providing festival commentary for visually impaired individuals, titled ‘Spring Flower Walk with the Heart,’ will be developed and operated. Accompanied by a video narrator, participants can experience spring through auditory and tactile senses, enhanced by a Han River yacht experience for a unique adventure. This program will run once daily from March 29 to April 2, with plans to refine it after this pilot operation and convert it into a regular program next year.

With about 1,800 cherry blossom trees creating a magnificent view, the festival offers a variety of attractions, food, and entertainment content awaiting visitors.

The festival kicks off with a ‘Flower Path Walk’ parade involving around 500 residents, followed by ▲the ‘Spring Flower Stage’ featuring diverse musical performances every afternoon ▲the ‘Food Picnic Zone’ with various food options ▲‘Street Performances’ enlivening the cherry blossom path ▲‘Rest Areas’ installed throughout the venue ▲‘Yacht Tours’ in collaboration with Seoul Marina Resort ▲and ‘Photo Zones’ perfect for taking pictures with the cherry blossoms.

Moreover, the district operates the ‘Yeongdeungpo Spring Flower Sale Festa,’ offering discounts at restaurants, hotels, and more for visitors attending the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival. Running from March 25 to April 30, detailed discount information and participating locations can be found on the ‘Yeongdeungpo Sale Festa’ website.

In addition, facilities such as a ▲Tourist Information Center with foreign language support ▲stroller and baby wagon rentals ▲baby rest areas ▲and a medical support control room will be available to ensure visitors have a comfortable spring flower picnic experience.

Meanwhile, for visitor safety, from 12:00 PM on March 28 to 10:00 PM on April 4, vehicle traffic will be completely restricted on Yeouiseo-ro behind the National Assembly (1.7 km) and the section from the public parking lot at the southern end of Seogang Bridge to Yeoui Lower IC. During the festival, frequent crackdowns will be conducted to prevent violations of basic order such as illegal street vending and unauthorized parking.

Furthermore, to ensure a safe festival, order maintenance personnel and exemplary drivers will be deployed not only along the Yeouiseo-ro cherry blossom path but also around Yeouinaru Station, where many spring visitors gather. Electric scooters and bicycles will be prohibited from operating on the cherry blossom path.

Detailed information about the Spring Flower Festival can be found on the websites of Yeongdeungpo District Office or Yeongdeungpo Cultural Foundation.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “This year, under the theme of a spring flower picnic, we have prepared various spaces and programs so that people can leisurely enjoy spring amidst their busy lives. We hope everyone enjoys the full bloom of spring with family, lovers, and friends while feeling the warm breeze at the Spring Flower Festival.”
