Gumi-si Operates Emotional Support Program for Emotional Labor Workers

Implementation of the "Emotional Laborer Psychological Counseling and Healing Program"

Providing 1:1 In-depth Counseling, Prevention Programs, and Enhancing Labor Rights and Interests

Gumi City in Gyeongbuk Province will implement a psychological counseling support project starting from the 18th to help emotional laborers, who experience high stress from customer service, find emotional stability.

Gumi-si Operates Emotional Support Program for Emotional Labor Workers Guidance on Psychological Counseling and Healing Programs for Emotional Labor Workers.

This project provides one-on-one psychological counseling and group healing programs to emotional laborers who have high emotional stress but have not received treatment, and it will continue this year following last year.


Eligible applicants are ▲ residents registered in Gumi City ▲ workers or workplaces engaged in emotional labor occupations such as nurses, physical therapists, call center employees, social workers, caregivers, taxi drivers, guides, kindergarten teachers, and security guards.


Each emotional laborer can receive up to five sessions of one-on-one psychological counseling, and group education and stress prevention programs will be provided to workplaces in emotional labor sectors. Counseling applications can be made starting from the 18th, and for more details, inquiries can be directed to the Gonggam Psychological Counseling Education Center.


Mayor Kim Jang-ho said, “Through the psychological counseling and group healing program for emotional laborers, we will create conditions where emotional laborers can work without mental stress, improve workers’ rights, and strive to make Gumi a city where workers can work with peace of mind.”
