On the 17th, Lotte Department Store announced that it received the main prize at the iF Design Award held in Germany for its 'Brand Visual Strategy' and 'Information Kiosk.' The iF Design Award is considered one of the world's top three design awards alongside Germany's Red Dot Design Award and the USA's IDEA. This year, over 11,000 works competed across nine categories including communication, product, and service design.
Lotte Department Store's brand visual strategy, showcased last year under the theme 'Dear Series,' won the main prize in the communication category. Additionally, the information kiosk was recognized for its aesthetics and functionality, winning in the product design category. This year, they plan to create visuals conveying bright and positive messages under the theme 'Wonder Series.'

Hyundai Department Store Duty Free won the main prize in the communication category for the second consecutive year at this award. The winning work this year, 'Plastic Vinyl Bag Recycling Project, Vinyl!,' was presented at the eco-friendly upcycling exhibition 'Sustainable Wonderland,' held from July to October last year at Hyundai Department Store Duty Free Trade Center Branch and others.
Hyundai Department Store Duty Free, as the first in the industry to introduce eco-friendly paper shopping bags, repurposed unused vinyl shopping bag stock from the duty-free store into various objects and furniture such as sofas, parasols, beach balls, tubes, and flooring materials. Collaborating with furniture designer Kim Haneul, who creates works inspired by 'resource circulation' and 'eco-friendliness,' they succeeded in transforming vinyl shopping bags destined for disposal into materials similar to leather or fabric through high-temperature compression processing. The resulting objects and furniture attracted attention with patterns cleverly utilizing the red stripe design of Hyundai Department Store Duty Free's vinyl shopping bags.
Additionally, LG Household & Health Care's mini tattoo printer 'Imprintu' won the main prize in the product category. Imprintu is designed with a smooth, rounded shape in a neon yellow color that symbolizes customers' individuality and stands out visually. The product's exterior excludes unnecessary decorations, leaving only essential buttons like the power button. It adopts a 'dual printing mode' with skin mode and object mode, allowing printing on any surface such as skin, paper, and clothing.
A representative from LG Household & Health Care's Design Center stated, "We designed Imprintu with the effort to provide customers with a new product experience," adding, "We will continue to offer differentiated customer value through innovative designs that embody the unique philosophy of each LG Household & Health Care brand."
