The Korea Employers Federation (KEF)-led Korean business delegation will visit China for a 1-night, 2-day trip starting on the 19th to explore ways to strengthen Korea-China economic cooperation.
According to the business community on the 17th, KEF will hold the "1st Korea-China Business Leaders Meeting" together with the China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations (CICPMC) at a hotel in Beijing on the afternoon of the 19th. The two organizations plan to broadly discuss economic cooperation and human exchange between Korea and China, as well as global supply chains at this meeting.
On the Korean side, KEF Chairman Son Kyung-sik, some KEF vice chairmen, and senior executives from major companies will attend, while on the Chinese side, CICPMC Vice Chairman Shang Fulin and Chinese business officials are expected to be present. High-level government officials from both countries are also reported to participate.
The Korean business delegation is scheduled to meet with Yin Li, Party Secretary of Beijing, on the 20th. Secretary Yin is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. In addition, the delegation is expected to visit major Chinese economic organizations and think tanks located in Beijing.
Amid strained Korea-China relations, attention is focused on whether this can open a path for cooperation in the economic sector. Previously, KEF and CICPMC also discussed economic exchange and cooperation measures in Beijing last November.
