"'I will rebuild Mokpo, the political hub of South Korea'
Son Hye-won and Byeon Hee-jae attend... 'We will run together in the Mokpo election'"
Choi Dae-jip, Chairman of the Medical and Health Special Committee of the Sonamudang, held a press conference at 2 p.m. on the 16th at his election office in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do, and declared his candidacy for the general election, stating, “I will revitalize the economy of my hometown Mokpo and achieve regional development.”
Chairman Choi said, “As a patriotic fighter, I have fought all my life to save the country,” and appealed, “Mokpo, the ‘No. 1 place in Korean politics,’ should take the lead with me in judging the Yoon Seok-yeol administration to save the country.”
He criticized, “Although I have devoted my life to patriotic movements, I have never felt such anxiety about the fate of this country as I do now,” adding, “The Yoon Seok-yeol and Han Dong-hoon special prosecution gang, through a de facto coup by manipulating the tablet investigation, ultimately created their own regime, causing the foundation of the rule of law in this country to collapse from the root.”
Choi Dae-jip, Chairman of the Medical and Health Special Committee of Sonamudang, is holding a press conference for his candidacy at the Mokpo office.
He continued, “Currently, it is no exaggeration to say that the prosecution in South Korea has completely rotted due to the ‘Yoon Seok-yeol faction,’ paralyzing the functions of normal investigative agencies,” and said, “There is no need for a lengthy explanation regarding the suffering faced by Song Young-gil, leader of the Sonamudang.”
He emphasized, “Someone must judge this prosecutorial dictatorship,” and “We must restore the rule of law in this country to normal, recover the economy, and promptly normalize diplomacy and healthcare.”
Chairman Choi emphasized the pride of Mokpo, the ‘political capital’ that produced former President Kim Dae-jung, saying, “My hometown Mokpo, which produced the president who achieved the first-ever horizontal regime change political revolution since the founding of the nation, thereby earning the honorable title of ‘No. 1 place in Korean politics,’ has now fallen into a region that no longer shows presence in central politics, becoming an autistic city struggling with unrealistic, wasteful regional development pledges since the Roh Moo-hyun administration.”
He particularly diagnosed, “This is the result of the long-standing irresponsibility of the Democratic Party, which has not even produced a presidential candidate from Honam, let alone from Mokpo, nor has it ever thought of nurturing politicians who put the country first in their own region.”
He also added, “If Mokpo is truly the ‘No. 1 place in Korean politics,’ it should naturally produce a Mokpo-style member of the National Assembly and play the role of a city that judged the outrageous Yoon Seok-yeol administration on behalf of all cities in South Korea in such a situation,” and “Achieving regional development through such honorable merits is also consistent with Mokpo’s history and tradition.”
Finally, he promised, “Through the impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol, special investigations into Kim Geon-hee and Han Dong-hoon, and the dismantling of political prosecution, I will first rebuild Mokpo, the ‘No. 1 place in Korean politics,’” and “I will restore Mokpo to central politics in South Korea as before and open the path to Mokpo’s revival.”
Chairman Choi presented pledges including △ impeachment and early resignation of Yoon Seok-yeol △ Medical Utopia Mokpo △ launch of the new Mokpo Special City △ fostering a youth barrier-free city △ and developing a global 10 million tourist city.
At Chairman Choi’s declaration of candidacy ceremony that day, Son Hye-won, Chairwoman of the Sonamudang Election Countermeasures Committee, and Byeon Hee-jae, Chairman of the New Media Special Committee, who promised to run the Mokpo election together, were present.
Chairman Choi graduated from Mokpo High School and Seoul National University College of Medicine. He has worked as a doctor and served as president of the Korean Medical Association.
