Applications Available on Pohang Marine Sports Academy Website from 18th to 29th

In Pohang, the mecca of marine sports, applications are now open for the '2024 Pohang Marine Sports Academy' courses.

The courses being offered this time are windsurfing and dinghy sailing, open to anyone aged third grade elementary school and above, regardless of gender or age.

Applications can be submitted through the Pohang Marine Sports Academy website from the 18th to the 29th, and classes are scheduled to begin on April 3rd.

The Marine Sports Academy is managed by the Pohang City Sports Council from March to November, offering a variety of activities such as dinghy sailing, surfing, paddleboarding, sea swimming, and jet skiing around Yeongildae and Jukcheon beaches, depending on daily weather conditions throughout the season.

Notably, this year, a weekday after-school program for youth will be available, allowing flexible participation after school, while the general public programs will continue as before with dinghy sailing and windsurfing courses offered in designated weekend classes and weekday self-directed classes.

Kim Young-jun, Director of the Marine and Port Division of Pohang City, stated, “We will do our best to promote the operation of the Pohang Marine Sports Academy so that citizens can participate in marine leisure sports activities nearby, contributing to the improvement of public health and the effective use of leisure time.”
