Seocho-gu Signs MOU with KCC Glass (CEO Jeong Mong-ik) on the 15th to Support 'Dream HomeCC' Project Helping Youth Preparing for Independence Gain Opportunities and Grow as Healthy Members of Society
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) signed a business agreement on the 15th with KCC Glass (CEO Jeong Mong-ik) to support the future preparation of youth preparing for independence, helping them gain opportunities for self-reliance and grow as healthy members of society through the 'Dream HomeCC' project.
Following last year, the ‘Dream HomeCC’ project, now in its second consecutive year, is a program that provides education and entrepreneurial experience opportunities necessary for independence preparation to youth preparing for independence and those in welfare blind spots within the region.
The project is a public-private partnership with KCC Glass sponsoring 50 million KRW in project funds, and the district office along with two partner organizations managing the project implementation.
Through last year’s project, about 40 young people took courses on daily life and career, accumulating professional knowledge.
Additionally, they gained practical entrepreneurial experience by directly operating an online shopping mall, with seven of them currently continuing to run the mall. They also had time to build emotional bonds among youth through networking activities.
This year, various programs will be operated to support the vigorous leap of youth, including the ‘Care Project’ which offers specialized education and institution visits on topics such as housing, daily life, and career, and the ‘Creative Project,’ an online entrepreneurship education program for youth interested in startups.
Attending the agreement ceremony held at the district office were Seocho-gu Mayor Jeon Seong-su, KCC Glass Director Kim Myung-joo, heads of two partner organizations (Bangbae Art Youth Center, Banpo Comprehensive Social Welfare Center), and other related personnel.
The ceremony proceeded with viewing last year’s achievement video, exchanging the agreement documents, and commemorative photography.
The 2024 ‘Dream HomeCC’ project participants will be recruited online and offline in April, and detailed selection criteria and documents can be found on the websites of the partner organizations and Seocho-gu Office.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su of Seocho-gu said, “I sincerely thank KCC Glass for their support for the future of youth preparing for independence again this year.” He added, “We will continue to spare no support so that more young people can stand firmly in society.”
