Police say "He appeared to be drinking at the time of the incident"
A man in his 60s who indiscriminately assaulted a woman in her 30s in front of her child after she asked him to refrain from using profanity has been apprehended.
The Bundang Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 15th that they arrested Mr. A on the spot on charges of injury and violation of the Child Welfare Act. Mr. A is accused of repeatedly punching the face of Ms. B, a woman in her 30s, at a cafe in Bundang-gu the previous day.
At the time of the incident, Mr. A was having a conversation mixed with profanity with an acquaintance. When Ms. B, who was with her 7-year-old son, asked him to refrain from using profanity because of the child, he assaulted her in front of the child.
Ms. B is currently receiving treatment at a hospital, and the police, who responded to the report, arrested Mr. A at the scene. It was confirmed that they were strangers at the time of the incident.
