On the 7th, the Cheongsong-gun Health and Medical Center in Gyeongbuk held a first half-year project briefing session for 40 new participants and their guardians regarding the Nutrition Plus Project, which aims to improve the nutritional status of pregnant women and infants.
During the briefing session, information was provided to pregnant women and infants at nutritional risk, such as anemia, low birth weight, and growth retardation, to help resolve nutritional problems and develop their ability to manage their own dietary habits.
Additionally, guidance was given on the overview of the Nutrition Plus Project, nutrition education, and the supply of supplementary food.
This briefing session was conducted in connection with the ‘119 Childcare Center Project’ operated by the Cheongsong Fire Station, providing useful information related to childcare for families with pregnancy and childbirth.
Cheongsong-gun’s ‘Nutrition Plus Project’ started in March 2010 and has since provided services such as nutrition education and counseling, supplementary food supply, and nutritional assessment to pregnant women and infants in the area, greatly helping with nutrition management, prevention of picky eating, anemia, and improvement of growth retardation.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “We will do our best to provide customized, life-centered nutritional management services for pregnant women and infants by actively supporting vulnerable nutritional groups and conducting home visit education.”
