Wizit Reports Operating Profit of 3.6 Billion KRW Last Year, Up 68% Year-on-Year

Wizit, a core component manufacturer for semiconductors and displays, announced on the 15th that it recorded consolidated sales of 35.2 billion KRW and an operating profit of 3.7 billion KRW last year. This represents sales at the same level as the previous year, while operating profit increased by 68.5%.

The company explained that with the full-scale receipt of orders for newly developed semiconductor core components, it achieved a 44% sales growth compared to the previous year despite the global downturn in the semiconductor market last year, showing steady growth. It also stated that profitability greatly improved due to cost competitiveness strengthened through production process efficiency and supply chain management (SCM) structural innovation.

Wizit is a ‘Sobujang (Materials, Parts, and Equipment) specialized company’ for semiconductors and displays designated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It has been continuously designated for over 20 years since 2005. Additionally, last year, it was designated by the government as a ‘National Strategic Technology’ commercialization facility manufacturing advanced memory semiconductors (DRAM, NAND Flash, HBM) materials and parts.

In 2021, the government introduced a tax credit regulation for national strategic technologies through tax law amendments. When designated as a ‘National Strategic Technology’ commercialization facility, a higher investment tax credit rate is applied compared to general facilities. Large and medium-sized enterprises receive a 15% tax credit, while small and medium-sized enterprises receive up to 25%.

Wizit produces consumable parts for equipment applied in core semiconductor and display manufacturing processes such as ▲Deposition (CVD, forming thin films on silicon/glass substrates) ▲Photolithography (PHOTO, forming circuit patterns on substrate surfaces) ▲Etching (ETCH, removing unnecessary parts outside the pattern).

These processes involve environments with high temperatures and various chemical gases, requiring parts with high durability and precise surface treatment technology to prevent particle and static electricity generation. Based on industry-leading know-how and technology, Wizit supplies products to domestic and international semiconductor and display panel manufacturers, maintaining steady business partnerships.

A Wizit representative said, “Under the government’s strong policy to foster advanced industries, active facility investments by semiconductor and display manufacturers continue, sustaining positive prospects for the Sobujang industry. This year, the display business division will focus on OLED core products to maintain the industry’s top-level market share, and the semiconductor business division plans to actively expand the global market through product diversification.”

He added, “We will also focus on enhancing process and facility operation efficiency to maximize synergy between the two business divisions, concentrating on sales growth and securing stable profitability.”
