Support for Residential Regeneration Services (Home Staging · Small-scale Home Repairs) for a Total of 45 Households

First-come, First-served Application - Review - Selection of Supported Households for District-Recommended Families Service

Busan City is promoting the 'Jeongrihaedeurim (DREAM) Housing Regeneration Support Project' again this year, following last year, to improve the living environment of vulnerable groups.

The 'Jeongrihaedeurim Housing Regeneration Support Project' is a life-oriented initiative that supports households urgently needing housing environment improvements, such as those with hoarding disorder, by providing home staging (organizing, storage, disinfection, etc.), small-scale home repairs (wallpaper and flooring replacement, etc.), and waste disposal.

Since the pilot project started in 2022, the city has provided housing environment improvement services to a total of 125 vulnerable households.

During the 2022 pilot project, only home staging services were supported, but many households in urgent need of wallpaper and flooring replacement were identified during the support process.

Subsequently, through a complete restructuring of the project in 2023, small-scale home repair services (such as wallpaper and flooring replacement) were introduced alongside home staging, establishing a foundation for providing comprehensive housing regeneration services.

This year, a total of 45 households will be supported (35 households for home staging and 10 households for small-scale home repairs). Households eligible for home staging services will be selected first, followed by a second selection for small-scale home repair service recipients.

To eliminate welfare blind spots, 16 district and county administrative welfare centers in the city will collaborate to identify eligible households.

Households eligible to apply for support are those recommended by their residential district or county, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

After application, a review process will be conducted to verify eligibility, and final support recipients will be selected. Services will be provided sequentially until November this year.

For recommended households, Busan Urban Corporation and specialized institutions will conduct on-site visits to explore support methods and provide systematic services.

Additionally, when providing services, home staging know-how (education) will be transferred to selected households to help them maintain the improved living environment continuously.

This year, following institutional integration, the Busan Urban Corporation Urban Regeneration Support Center will centrally manage and actively promote the project, expanding the scope of small-scale home repair services.

Besides wallpaper and flooring replacement, additional services such as condensation prevention and cold protection will be included to broaden the support area for small-scale home repairs.

In the future, through continuous discussions with the city, the support system for vulnerable groups will be carefully reviewed to prepare multifaceted support measures.

Kim Jong-seok, Director of the Housing and Architecture Bureau of Busan City, stated, “We will provide detailed attention and generous housing regeneration support services for aging residential spaces in the Busan area,” adding, “We aim to contribute to improving citizens’ quality of life by creating a pleasant and hygienic living environment.”
