Aiming to Build Infrastructure to Enhance Resident Convenience

Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is analyzing related big data to select the optimal location for the construction of a public library.

The district is promoting the construction of a public library with the goal of creating a "Hopeful Future Education City, Jungnang," and is collaborating with the Seoul Digital Foundation to conduct big data analysis under the theme of "Public Library Location Analysis Project."

Building urban infrastructure such as libraries requires significant costs and efforts, and recently, big data analysis has been utilized to use limited resources more efficiently. The data derived from big data analysis provides scientific grounds for policy decisions and greatly aids from the planning stage to execution and result analysis.

Accordingly, the district aims to select the optimal location for the public library by considering residents' transportation accessibility, population density, and accessibility to existing libraries.

This analysis will comprehensively consider various factors such as transportation accessibility, population density, accessibility to existing libraries, main library users, residential population, floating population, number of nearby students, and locations of related businesses to derive the results for selecting the optimal library location in Jungnang-gu.

Furthermore, to produce more efficient results, the district will set location criteria considering prior research and verify the suitability of the planned construction area to maximize the utilization of the library.

District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi stated, "In the future, not only for selecting library locations but also for building various infrastructures, we will actively utilize big data to promote projects more efficiently."
