Hong Taeyong, mayor of Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, took the lead as the first participant in the ‘4-Action Hygiene Business Practice Challenge’ promoted by the Gimhae City Western Health Center.
The 4-Action Hygiene Business Practice Challenge was established with the goal of successfully carrying out Gimhae’s three major mega events in 2024: the National Sports Festival and Paralympics, the East Asian Cultural City, and the Year of Visiting Gimhae.
It embodies the intention that hygiene businesses will provide services that are ‘friendly’, ‘clean’, ‘safe’, and ‘satisfactory’ for visitors to Gimhae.

The challenge proceeds by taking a certification photo holding a sign with the practice phrase and then recommending the next participant.
Mayor Hong, who participated as the first participant on the 13th, recommended the head of the Gimhae branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association as the next participant in the challenge.
He said, “Since many tourists and guests are expected to visit Gimhae this year due to the three major mega events, I hope not only hygiene businesses but all citizens actively participate in welcoming guests with kindness.”
Afterwards, Gimhae City plans to continue promotional activities such as the 4-Action practice campaign related to kindness, hygiene, safety, and satisfaction in cooperation with hygiene-related organizations.
