Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 14th that Kim Mi-yang, president of the Changwon Women’s Civil Defense Mobile Corps Federation, has been inaugurated as the 14th president of the Changwon Women’s Organizations Council.

The Changwon Women’s Organizations Council held an inauguration and retirement ceremony at the Changwon Women’s Hall on the 14th, encouraging the efforts of the 13th president Kang Young-im, who led the council last year, and celebrating the inauguration of the 14th new president Kim.


About 100 people, including Hong Nam-pyo, mayor of Changwon Special City, Kim Yi-geun, chairman of the Changwon City Council, Gu Jeom-deuk, chairman of the Changwon City Council Steering Committee, and members of the Women’s Organizations Council, attended the ceremony to congratulate the retiring and incoming presidents and to share opinions on ways to develop the Women’s Organizations Council.


In her inauguration speech, the new president Kim pledged, “I want to create a Women’s Organizations Council where women participate proactively and communicate broadly. I will strive to make the council more communicative and harmonious so that it can serve as a model as the representative women’s organization of Changwon Special City.”


Mayor Hong said, “I thank the 13th president Kang Young-im for her dedication in leading the Changwon Women’s Organizations Council. I also congratulate the 14th president Kim Mi-yang. I hope that through active and vigorous activities, the council will become more united and play a pivotal role in strengthening women’s competitiveness and the development of Changwon City.”


The Changwon Women’s Organizations Council was founded in 2011 after the integration and has about 20,000 members who engage in various activities such as supporting side dish provision projects for low-income single-parent families, sister city exchange activities, and operating family experience booths at Changwon City events.
