Urban Oil Field, Establishment of a Low-Temperature Pyrolysis Recycled Raw Material Oil Plant in Jeongeup

Dosi Yujeon (CEO Jeong Young-hoon) announced on the 14th that it will establish a directly managed factory in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do, in partnership with Woori Technology, to produce recycled raw materials and recycled fuels from waste vinyl and waste plastics using a low-temperature pyrolysis method.

The factory, to be established on a site of 3,000 pyeong with a total floor area of 1,100 pyeong in the Gokori area of Jeongeup City, will utilize 24 tons of waste per day and 7,000 tons annually to produce recycled raw materials equivalent to naphtha and recycled fuels equivalent to light oil. Dosi Yujeon plans to apply the world's first non-combustion low-temperature decomposition technology and process using ceramic waves and energy.

The facility investment amount is approximately 20 billion KRW, including the land. Dosi Yujeon and Woori Technology will participate with a 51:49 equity ratio.

Dosi Yujeon possesses 'Waste Non-Combustion Low-Temperature Decomposition Emulsification (RGO) Technology,' which decomposes emulsified waste such as plastics and vinyl at low temperatures (around 300℃) using ceramic and wave energy instead of the conventional high-temperature pyrolysis method, breaking carbon molecular bonds to produce recycled raw materials and recycled fuels. Through over 30 years of technology development, the company has obtained a total of 11 patents, including the 'Low-Temperature Decomposition Sublimation Device for Combustible Waste.'

Dosi Yujeon explained, "The expected market price for recycled oil produced at the Jeongeup factory is $2 per liter for naphtha and $0.72 per liter for light oil. Based on naphtha, this can replace up to 4.9 million liters annually, resulting in an economic effect equivalent to substituting approximately 12.8 billion KRW worth of energy."

Additionally, because Dosi Yujeon operates using a non-combustion low-temperature decomposition method rather than high-temperature pyrolysis, it expects the ancillary effect of reducing greenhouse gases and securing carbon emission credits. The company explained that by using heater rods powered solely by electric energy and ceramic catalysts to decompose waste plastics and waste vinyl below 300℃, it has significantly reduced the generation of greenhouse gases and pollutants such as dioxins.

Dosi Yujeon originated from the Land Life Science Research Institute founded by Dr. Jeong Heung-je in the 1990s. Dr. Jeong was an environmental engineer with unique technology that utilized the wave energy of ceramic balls to convert heavy oil into light oil. CEO Jeong Young-hoon joined the company in 2006 and established Dosi Yujeon in 2015 after inheriting the related technology.
