Hi Investment & Securities forecasted on the 14th that SPG will benefit from the growth of the collaborative robot market.
Lee Sang-soo, a researcher at Hi Investment & Securities, explained, "Since 2019, SPG has succeeded in developing new precision reducers, including the small collaborative robot dedicated harmonic reducer (SH) and the medium-to-large product reducer (SR)." He added, "These have recently been installed in actual mass-produced products."
He continued, "Precision reducers installed in industrial robots show strong synchronization with the finished product manufacturing company market," and "The penetration rate of the collaborative robot market is estimated to be about 25% by 2027." He emphasized, "The demand for precision reducers will increase significantly," and "It seems difficult for some companies to maintain a monopoly, so SPG's benefits can be expected."
The researcher analyzed, "SPG not only has the SH reducer product line, which is a harmonic reducer mainly used in collaborative robots, but also the SR reducer product lineup," and "The reason harmonic reducers are installed in collaborative robots is that they are lightweight and highly precise, enabling delicate operations." He added, "In the case of AMRs and quadruped robots, they mainly perform tasks involving moving heavy objects," and "Reducers that can easily respond to overload through high rigidity are necessary."
The researcher stated, "Major collaborative robot companies are planning to release new products such as AMRs and quadruped robots in the future," and "SPG's benefits can be expected."
