On the 13th, the UK Independent reported that Balenciaga recently held its 2024 Fall/Winter collection. The most eye-catching item in this collection themed around disorder was the 'Tape Bracelet.' Balenciaga's tape bracelet looks exactly like the transparent tape easily found at local hardware or stationery stores. It is known that the product was inspired by this tape. The difference is that the inside of the Balenciaga tape bracelet features the Balenciaga logo. The price of this transparent tape bracelet reaches 3,000 euros (approximately 4.32 million KRW). At the Paris fashion walk, models appeared with tape wrapped around their tops, and some wore transparent tape bracelets wrapped entirely around their wrists.
The reactions from netizens who saw this were extremely cold. They expressed negative comments such as "They copy designs from everyday objects," "You can get this for under 1,000 KRW at Daiso," and "Is there really anyone who buys this?" However, in the fashion industry, Balenciaga's attempt is regarded as "a joke thrown at the secular fashion world." Netizens also responded by saying, "It seems like the social satire fashion Balenciaga has been doing."

Balenciaga has released products inspired by everyday life. In the 2024 Spring collection, they attracted attention by introducing a 'towel skirt.' This product, which looks like an ordinary towel wrapped around, was priced at 1.15 million KRW. In the 2022 Fall/Winter collection, they introduced the 'world's most expensive trash bag.' The product was named 'Trash Pouch,' and it was also known to be inspired by a trash bag. However, the material of this product was cow leather, not vinyl, and the price was about 2.36 million KRW. In the same year, they also released the 'Paris Sneakers,' which looked worn and dirty, priced at about 2.43 million KRW, drawing criticism.
