Seoul Youth Center Gangbuk and Suyu 3-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee Alley Care Team Identifying Vulnerable Youth

Agreement Signed on the 8th to Identify Vulnerable Youth
Various Programs Including Psychological Counseling, Employment and Startup Support, and Delivery of Single-Person Household Kits for Isolated and Reclusive Youth

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) signed a business agreement on the 8th with the ‘Seoul Youth Center Gangbuk’ (Director Kwon Hye-jin) and the ‘Suyu 3-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee (Chairman Jeong Hyun-bok) Alley Care Team’ at the Suyu 3-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee education hall to identify vulnerable youth such as isolated and reclusive young people.

With this business agreement, Seoul Youth Center Gangbuk plans to discover isolated and reclusive youth and provide various programs including ▲ psychological counseling ▲ delivery of single-person household kits ▲ social network formation programs ▲ home repair projects ▲ employment and start-up support.

Additionally, a youth support manager will participate in the entire process from discovering vulnerable youth to follow-up management.

Suyu 3-dong is the area with the highest number of single vulnerable households in Gangbuk-gu. Accordingly, the Suyu 3-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee formed the Alley Care Team in May last year and has been implementing the task of identifying welfare blind spot households in need of help and linking them to various welfare institutions as a Residents' Autonomy Committee agenda project this year. Among them, vulnerable youth will be linked and supported through Seoul Youth Center Gangbuk under this agreement.

Jeong Hyun-bok, Chairman of the Suyu 3-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, “I have always felt sorry for the youth whose social advancement is becoming increasingly difficult amid tough economic conditions,” and added, “We will strive to ease concerns about youth social advancement through this agreement.”

Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, stated, “Based on this cooperation in the private sector, we expect it to greatly help vulnerable youth recover their daily lives and advance socially,” and added, “We will work hard to establish practical and systematic support policies for youth in the future.”
