Mapo-gu Selected as an Excellent Institution for Public Data Management

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) has been honored as an 'Excellent Institution' in the public data operation evaluation, following its top rating in the data-driven administration inspection.


The Ministry of the Interior and Safety conducted the public data operation evaluation under the Public Data Act, targeting 696 institutions including central administrative agencies, metropolitan and local governments, and public institutions.


In the 2023 evaluation, private experts in the public data field participated as evaluators to ensure objectivity and fairness.


The evaluation team assessed 16 detailed indicators across five areas: ▲public data opening ▲public data utilization ▲data quality ▲management system ▲others, and assigned ratings of excellent, average, or poor based on the scores.


Mapo-gu received positive evaluations by establishing and actively implementing a mid- to long-term (2023?2025) public data opening plan based on the metadata management system operated for data standardization and integration of public institutions.


Additionally, to increase the utilization of already opened data, Mapo-gu held meetings with public data officers from Seoul's autonomous districts and the Mapo-gu Facilities Management Corporation, earning high praise from the evaluation team.


In particular, Mapo-gu participated in institution-tailored quality management consulting for systematic public data quality control, established and implemented a quality improvement plan, proving that data within Mapo-gu's information systems is managed without errors.


Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, “We will take the lead in creating a smart city Mapo by actively opening the public data held by Mapo-gu,” and added, “Mapo-gu will continue to make every effort to proactively identify residents' needs and operate and utilize high-quality public data.”
