In his greeting, Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek said, “I hope that the expansion of the Serious Accident Punishment Act will minimize social confusion and damage, and support companies in strengthening their capabilities to prevent serious accidents.”
Park Cheoljun, head of the Mokpo Employment and Labor Office, stated, “Since January 27, the Serious Accident Punishment Act has been expanded to workplaces with 5 to fewer than 50 employees. Recently, we held a win-win cooperation meeting with safety managers of local shipbuilding companies to explore ways to establish a safety and health management prevention system and promote cooperative measures. Since interest and effort in safety are fundamental to preventing serious accidents, we will do our best to activate safety and health activities and spread a safety culture among local companies.”
Meanwhile, the Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry regularly holds meetings with related organizations to address local economic issues, striving to ensure that the difficulties and suggestions of local companies are reflected in policies and resolved.
