1993 Release 'Sliver' Filming Anecdotes Shared
Hollywood actress Sharon Stone (66) has drawn attention by revealing that she was once asked by a producer to have sexual relations with a male actor during a film shoot.
Stone shared the story on the 12th (local time) during an appearance on the 'Lewis Therrien Podcast,' recounting an incident that occurred during the filming of the movie Sliver. Sliver is a 1993 American thriller film in which Stone played the lead role of Carly Norris.
Stone stated, "During filming, producer Robert Evans called me into his office and said, 'I slept with Ava Gardner. You have to sleep with Billy (William) Baldwin.'
Evans reportedly explained that the reason for this demand was "if you sleep with Billy Baldwin, his acting will improve." He added that "there would be chemistry on screen, which would bring the movie to life."
Ava Gardner was a popular Hollywood actress in the 1940s and 1950s. William Baldwin was the male lead actor alongside Stone in the film Sliver.
Stone said, "The real problem in that movie was that I was a stubborn, closed-minded person," implying that she refused Evans' demand.
Stone had also mentioned this incident in her 2021 memoir, but at that time she did not reveal Evans' real name. Evans, the producer of Sliver, was known for producing classic films such as the 1970 release Love Story and the 1972 film The Godfather.
Meanwhile, Baldwin, the actor mentioned in Stone's revelation, posted on his social media on the same day, saying, "I don't know why Sharon Stone keeps talking about me even after all these years."
He claimed, "I don't know if she still likes me or if she's been hurt all these years because I avoided her advances. I know many of Stone's flaws, but I have kept quiet. Now I wonder if I need to write a book to tell my side of the story."
