Approved by University, Campus's First Daycare Center
A welfare and cultural space dedicated to protecting and supporting the elderly has been established on a university campus, drawing attention. It is the first senior day care center operated by a university.
Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) will hold an opening ceremony for the senior day care center, ‘Dongmyung Well Day Care Center’ (Director Kim Jong-gyu), on the 15th at the campus. The event will take place at 10 a.m. in the Dongmyung Hall Multipurpose Room.
Key figures such as Seo Ui-taek, Chairman of Dongmyung Cultural Academy, Jeon Ho-hwan, President of Dongmyung University, Ahn Seong-min, Chairperson of Busan City Council, Oh Eun-taek, Mayor of Nam-gu District, and Park Mi-soon, Chairperson of Nam-gu Council, along with local residents, center users, and their families, will attend to celebrate the launch of the center.
On the day, Director Kim Jong-gyu will introduce the background, purpose, and operational methods of the center and present the vision for its management. Seo Ui-taek, Chairman of Dongmyung Cultural Academy, Jeon Ho-hwan, President of Dongmyung University, and Oh Eun-taek, Mayor of Nam-gu District, will deliver congratulatory speeches. There will also be tours of the center’s facilities, experiential programs, and cultural performances.
The Dongmyung Well Day Care Center is the first day care center directly operated by a university. It is expected to enhance the quality of life for the elderly while communicating with and growing together with the local community.
President Jeon Ho-hwan introduced, “It will be a space where the elderly can communicate and interact with each other, gaining vitality through various campus experiences and field experiences from multiple departments.”
He added, “We will devote our efforts to helping the elderly live healthy and happy lives through the center.”
