“Integrity Level, First Grade This Year!”... Songpa-gu's Comprehensive Efforts Begin

Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) will continue the secret to achieving a comprehensive integrity rating of grade 2 last year and make all-out efforts this year with the goal of achieving ‘grade 1’.

Mayor Seo Gang-seok stated, “The two-step rise in Songpa-gu’s integrity rating last year was mainly due to changes in organizational culture,” and added, “This year, we will continue our integrity policies focusing on strengthening senior leadership, establishing systems, and solidifying value systems to create a positive organizational culture.”

In particular, when establishing this year’s integrity policy, the district actively reflected the results of the ‘Integrity Awareness Survey’ conducted in January. As a policy to improve integrity, district office officials cited fostering a flexible organizational culture through senior officials’ leading by example, while external stakeholders selected improving complex administrative procedures and building a public-private communication cooperation system as tasks.

To this end, the district will operate the ‘Integrity Culture Innovation Band’ involving all departments and affiliated organizations until December. The Innovation Band is an integrity culture practice council, where all departments belong to one of 11 bands by field and implement improvement tasks according to the nature of their work.

Representative projects include ▲realizing fair and clean personnel administration ▲strengthening integrity education for senior officials ▲supporting administrative consulting for subsidy management at social welfare facilities ▲holding integrity art and culture exhibitions ▲establishing a volume-based waste bag inventory management system ▲operating customized integrity practice study groups, totaling 55 projects.

The district holds quarterly Innovation Band meetings to share best practices, and at the end of this year, outstanding bands will be selected and awarded certificates and prize money.

On the 20th, an ‘Integrity Culture Festival’ will be held for MZ generation public officials.

This day is ‘Songpa-gu Integrity Day,’ designated annually on the third Wednesday of March. To make integrity, which can be dull, a serious yet fun experience, the entire district office building transforms into a venue for integrity culture for one day.

In the district office lobby, an exhibition of integrity posters titled ‘Songpa Life Integrity White Paper’ will be held, and in front of the main auditorium, an ‘Integrity & Communication Arcade’ will be set up. Games themed on integrity such as ‘Smash the Custom Whac-A-Mole’ and ‘Catch Integrity Speed Game’ will provide a time of harmony and healing.

Additionally, various programs will be held, including ‘Songpa Carries Love,’ a morning broadcast to convey feelings to seniors, juniors, and colleagues, and a special integrity lecture by a professional instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Integrity Training Institute.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “This year, aiming to be ‘Songpa, a premium city serving residents as owners,’ all departments will reflect on integrity and promote each task based on the core values of ‘creativity, innovation, and fairness’ to achieve a grade 1 integrity rating.”
