Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it is recruiting local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to participate in the 'China Shanghai Beauty Expo' and the 'Singapore Information and Communications Exhibition' until March 22.
In collaboration with the Seoul Business Agency, this initiative aims to support local SMEs struggling to develop overseas markets by helping them participate in globally recognized international exhibitions to strengthen their export competitiveness.
They are recruiting 4 companies in the beauty sector and 6 companies in the information and communications technology (IT) and electrical electronics sectors located in the region. Beauty sector companies will participate in the 'China Shanghai Beauty Expo,' while IT and electrical electronics companies will participate in the 'Singapore Information and Communications Exhibition.'
The 'China Shanghai Beauty Expo' is the world's largest cosmetics expo, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from May 22 to 24, with 3,000 companies participating over three days. Selected companies will receive support covering 85% of exhibition space rental fees, full installation costs, round-trip product logistics costs, and interpretation services.
The 'Singapore Information and Communications Exhibition' is Asia's largest IT exhibition and was surveyed as the top exhibition that G-Valley IT and electrical electronics companies wish to attend. It will be held at the Singapore Expo from May 29 to 31, with 600 companies participating over three days. Selected companies will receive support covering 85% of exhibition space rental and installation fees, a fixed amount for one-way product logistics costs, and a fixed round-trip airfare allowance (approximately 500,000 KRW per company for one person).
A 'G-Valley Geumcheon Pavilion' will be set up at the exhibition hall with assigned interpreters, and information on visiting overseas buyers will be provided in real-time. One-on-one meetings and focused consultations with overseas buyers will be conducted to understand their needs and recommend suitable local SMEs.
Additionally, customized pre-exhibition strategic consulting will be provided for each company, and a joint guidebook for participating companies will be produced. Overseas promotion of participating companies will be fully supported both online and offline. After the exhibition, a dedicated team will assist with overseas buyer engagement and negotiations to help secure actual export contracts.
Companies wishing to participate can check the announcement on the Geumcheon-gu Office website under 'Notices' and apply online via a Google form. External experts will evaluate the business suitability and market potential of the applicants, and the selection results will be announced on the Geumcheon-gu Office website in March.
Last year, 12 companies participated in the 'Hong Kong Electronics Fair' and the 'Osaka Beauty Expo,' and this year they are expected to conclude 141 contracts worth approximately 890 million KRW.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, "We ask for the interest and participation of local SMEs struggling to develop overseas markets," adding, "We will actively support everything from preparation to exhibition participation and post-management to help them build solid export competitiveness."
