On the 12th, the Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju announced that they have booked Mr. A on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (commonly known as the 'Sexual Violence Punishment Act', specifically the crime of filming using a camera, etc.). Mr. A is suspected of secretly filming inside a women's changing room at a general hospital in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, where he works.

The police reportedly began their investigation about a week ago after receiving a report from a hospital official. They plan to ascertain the exact facts by questioning Mr. A and others involved.

Meanwhile, the Sexual Violence Punishment Act aims to guarantee the life and physical safety of victims of sexual violence and contribute to the establishment of a healthy social order. Article 14 of the Act (Filming Using Cameras, etc.) states that anyone who films the body of a person in a way that may arouse sexual desire or shame without the consent of the subject, using a camera or other similar device, shall be punished by imprisonment for up to seven years or a fine of up to 50 million won.
